🚚 Commercial Freight (LTL) Receiving & Liability Terms

All heavy equipment shipments (including but not limited to commercial boiler plants, high-capacity water heaters, commercial pump configurations, and ASME-rated storage tanks) are dispatched strictly via common carrier LTL commercial freight transport.

  • Standard Delivery Parameters: Baseline carrier freight quotes explicitly assume a commercial delivery destination equipped with a dedicated structural loading dock or an active on-site forklift capable of safely offloading industrial-grade mechanical machinery.
  • Absolute Transfer of Risk & Title (FOB Origin): All heavy equipment sales are executed under strict commercial FOB Origin (Free on Board) terms. Legal ownership, title, and absolute risk of loss or transit-induced damage pass entirely to the purchasing entity the exact moment the freight carrier accepts the shipment and departs our fulfillment warehouse or manufacturer loading dock. National Boiler Supply assumes zero liability for transit delays, carrier re-routing, or mid-transit structural damage.
  • Liftgate, Site Accessorial, & Re-Delivery Fees: If the designated delivery destination lacks a loading dock or forklift, thereby requiring a specialized hydraulic liftgate vehicle, limited-access routing, construction site drop-off, or residential transit clearance, the purchasing entity assumes full financial liability for all assessed carrier accessorial charges. If secondary carrier fees (including but not limited to re-delivery fees, carrier storage charges, or dry-run fees) are assessed post-delivery due to buyer absence or job-site inaccessibility, the Buyer explicitly authorizes National Boiler Supply to charge the financial account, card, or credit line on file to recover these exact carrier pass-through expenses.
  • Mandatory Pre-Signature Receiving Inspection Protocol: The receiving contractor, procurement agent, or designated field representative MUST thoroughly inspect the physical equipment wrapping, palletization, strapping, and internal mechanical chassis for transit-induced damage BEFORE signing the carrier’s Bill of Lading (BOL). If structural damage, crushed framing, or fluid leaks are observed, the Buyer must explicitly refuse the shipment with the driver and notify our logistics desk immediately. Signing the BOL clean without clear written damage notations legally waives your right to carrier insurance recourse, completely bars any credit card merchant chargebacks, and voids all transit replacement or shipping-damage compensation claims.
