High-efficiency condensing boilers produce acidic condensate. A neutralizer raises its pH before it reaches the drain, which protects drain piping and helps meet many local discharge rules.

Most neutralizers pass the condensate through a chamber of limestone-type media. That media is used up over time, so it needs periodic checks and replacement.

How to choose

  • Match the boiler: pick a kit rated for your boiler's input (BTU/h or MBH). OEM kits are made to fit specific boiler models.
  • Replacement media: buy refills that fit your neutralizer chamber.
  • Check local code: discharge requirements vary by jurisdiction.
