The Caleffi DISCAL® 551 Series (Threaded NPT Model) continuously extracts micro-bubbles of entrained air from closed hydronic heating and cooling loops. Featuring heavy-duty 1-1/2" female NPT threaded connections, this model easily threads directly onto rigid commercial system pipe schedules. By dropping fluid velocity inside its specially shaped brass body, it allows minuscule air pockets to coalesce, break free from the system media, and vent automatically into the atmosphere.
Equipped with a glass-reinforced nylon internal element, the DISCAL creates a high-performance swirling matrix that captures 100% of trapped system air down to the micro-bubble level. Eliminating oxygen loop-circulation provides premium component protection—preventing mechanical pump noise, reducing terminal unit corrosion, and optimizing boiler plant heat transfer efficiency.
