The Taco Comfort Solutions 463-1 Combo Tank Fitting is a heavy-duty, commercial-grade cast bronze component designed to provide simplified fluid control and venting for conventional plain steel expansion reservoirs. This all-in-one plumbing specialty unit flawlessly integrates a secure isolation shut-off valve and a high-flow tank drain into a single solid-body design. By keeping free and entrained air trapped up inside the main compression cushion reservoir, it guarantees optimal system pressurization and protects hydronic heating configurations against wide-ranging thermal water-volume fluctuations.
Key Operational & Engineering Features:
- Smart Dual-Action Handle Control: Engineered with a smart single-handle setup. Threading the internal needle-handle completely "in tight" opens the primary reservoir line to the boiler; backing the handle completely "out tight" securely seals the system loop off while opening the integrated drain pathway.
- Included Rigid Air Tube Extensions: Shipped complete with one 6-inch and one 12-1/4 inch copper air vent tube extension segment. These elements guide escaping micro-bubbles directly up into the core of the compression cell to maintain the cushion without reabsorption risks.
- Gravity Separation Architecture: The internal flow passages restrict thermal gravity-circulation currents between the system main and the tank body. This controls the tank temperature lower to prevent air from dissolving back into the system water.
Maintenance Utility: Allows maintenance teams to easily drain water-logged compression tanks and charge them with a fresh fresh atmospheric air pocket during annual testing without having to drain down the rest of the building's main loop lines.
