Taco VorTech 2" In-Line Hydronic Air Separator

The Taco Comfort Solutions VRTX200-3 VorTech® In-Line Air Separator provides commercial-grade air elimination for residential and light commercial hydronic heating and cooling systems. Built around a rugged cast iron body, this line-size specialty separator utilizes a highly engineered tangential fluid flow pattern combined with an internal primary vortex chamber to quickly and quiet system air before it can cause internal component corrosion, localized boiler knocking, or circulation velocity noises.

Advanced Engineering & Vortex Fluid Dynamics:

• Tangential Vortex Separation: Fluid entering the primary separation chamber is directed tangentially to generate a high-velocity swirling vortex. This action forces the dense, heavy water outward against the perimeter walls while drawing less dense entrained air bubbles inward to the low-pressure center core, where they migrate straight up and out.
• Factory-Installed Hy-Vent® Assembly: Shipped out-of-the-box complete with a premium 3/4" Taco high-capacity automatic air vent. This brass vent rapidly exhausts separated air while utilizing a secure internal float mechanism to prevent operational weeping or system leaks.
• Zero Minimum Piping Constraints: Unlike traditional air scoops that require long, straight horizontal runs of up to 18 inches of pipe to calm turbulent fluids before separation, the VorTech's internal fluid management allows it to be installed directly adjacent to elbows, tees, or boiler fittings.

Installation Note: Built with a convenient 1/2" female NPT tapping directly on the bottom base of the cast iron body, allowing for a perfectly balanced, space-saving connection point for a diaphragm expansion tank. Approved strictly for closed-loop installations.
